Dubai Mall testing new system to help visitors locate lost cars

‘Find your car’ helps forgetful visitors locate where they have parked their vehicles in the parking lot

Dubai Mall is currently testing a new system to help forgetful visitors locate where they have parked their cars in the parking lot, owner Emaar has confirmed.

The new system, billed as ‘Find your car’, is designed to assist visitors who have forgotten where they have parked their vehicles.

Visitors insert the licence plate number into the touchscreen and the system locates the vehicle using a network of scanners located throughout the parking area. The screen produces a picture of the owner’s car and gives the user the exact location of their vehicle and a map of how to get there.

“Emaar Malls Group continues to innovate its services to ensure that our customer experiences are positive and seamless,” an Emaar Malls Group spokesperson said in a statement.

“With this as our priority, we strive to implement the latest technologies by working with some of the leading tech-providers.

“We undertake routine tests of such new technologies to evaluate customer feedback and how it adds to the visitor experience.

“This is in line with Emaar Malls Group’s strategy of providing customers with the most conducive environment when visiting our malls.”

The system is currently on trial in the mall and a decision has not yet been decided whether it will become a permanent fixture, the spokesperson added.

Dubai Mall is one of the world’s most visited destinations and received over 75 million visitors last year, up from 65 million in 2012.
