Novo Cinemas, the largest chain of theatres in the Middle East, has cemented an agreement to open a multiplex cinema in the world’s largest temperature controlled indoor theme park in Dubai.
The agreement has been signed with the Ilyas & Mustafa Galadari Group, the developers of IMG Worlds of Adventure.
IMG Worlds of Adventure said it selected Novo Cinemas as its partner “on account of the similarities in their approach to entertainment”.
Novo Cinemas at IMG Worlds of Adventure will feature a cutting edge IMAX theatre and the lavish comfort of the NOVO 7-STAR theatres, which it claims offers “unprecedented levels of personalised service and exclusive amenities”.
Jaber Al Ansari, MD Novo Cinemas and Group CEO ELAN, said: “This marks a major milestone in our strategic growth plans for Novo Cinemas across the Middle East.
“Over the past two years, the Novo Cinemas brand has gone from strength to strength, breaking ground in new markets and pioneering the new face of cinema. We are very pleased to be a part of the landmark IMG Worlds of Adventure destination as we continue to push boundaries and strive to take the movie experience to even greater heights.”
Ilyas Galadari and Mustafa Galadari, executive co-chairmen and owners of the Ilyas & Mustafa Galadari Group, added: “Novo joins a growing list of trusted and well recognized brands that can delight and excite our guests all year-round, when IMG Worlds of Adventure opens to the public.”
The Novo Cinemas regional network of theatres currently spans 115 screens and 22,000 seats in 14 locations across the UAE, Qatar and Jordan. On-going expansion will see these numbers grow to over 200 screens by early 2016.
Set to welcome more than 20,000 visitors per day, IMG Worlds of Adventure will boast 28 food and beverage offerings when it opens later this year.
The themed destination will house a total of 20 retail outlets, each one themed to one of the four zones – Cartoon Network, Marvel, IMG Boulevard, and the Lost Valley – Dinosaur Adventure.
IMG Worlds of Adventure, which is owned by the Ilyas & Mustafa Galadari Group, will be situated within City of Arabia, along Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road in Dubai.
