MGE UPS Systems unveiled the Nova range, the latest series in barebones UPS technology at Gitex.
“Nova is the answer for people not looking for frills. It is a barebones UPS. Our research showed us that 40% of the market worldwide is depending on UPS with no specifications except battery back up. With Nova we aim to capture that niche market,” explains Rahul Sikka, distribution manager, Middle East, East Africa and South CIS, MGE UPS Systems.
Making a sixth visit to Gitex, MGE is confident its products still hold an attraction for the regional market: “We are exhibiting our entire range, but naturally our new products are the focal point for existing clients,” Sikka points out.
Also new to the MGE portfolio is the all-purpose UPS, Comet EX RT 7/11 kVA. Perfect for rack server enclosure and the industrial environment, the Comet EX RT offers hot swappable battery and UPS modules without interrupting the secured system. Internal bypass and maintenance bypass are included as standard to achieve the highest level of availability.
“The EX RT allows us to provide hot standby redundant configurations, or cascade redundancy, which can be used by high-performance services requiring emergency back-up options. This is as reliable as it gets,” states Sikka.
Compatible with any environment, the Comet EX RT comes in a versatile tower/rack format and can be managed through various protocols, including HTTP, SNMP, XML and Telnet. In addition, the unit offers a large choice of back-up times, from 10 minutes up to two hours with battery modules and up to eight hours with the CLA charger module.
