Andrew Tate, a British-American controversial kickboxer and former reality TV star has been charged with rape, human trafficking and forming an organised crime group in 2021.

Along with Tate, his brother Tristan and two associates have also been charged. All charges have been denied by them.

In December 2022, the Tate brothers were first arrested at their Bucharest home. Later in March this year, they were moved from custody to house arrest following a ruling by a Romanian judge.

The group’s primary objective was to sexually exploit women and engage in human trafficking, not only within Romania but also in other nations, including the United States and the United Kingdom.

The indictment specifically identifies the Tate brothers as the main culprits, accusing them of enticing seven victims with false promises of love and marriage.

The charges against Andrew Tate include the rape of one of the victims, while his brother stands accused of inciting violence among others.

Although the trial is not set to begin immediately, it is expected to be a lengthy process spanning several years.

Currently, a Romanian judge has a 60-day period to review the case files before they can be formally presented for trial.
