Kuwait’s State Property Department of the Ministry of Finance has approved the licensing of smart toilets in parking lots of the Public Utilities Management Company, according to a report by Al-Qabas daily.
The bathrooms will be installed in accordance with the applicable controls, regulations, and systems, the report said, adding it will operate with a “small fee.”
Abd al-Rahman al-Khamis, the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance for State Property and Legal Affairs, sent a letter to the Kuwait Municipality regarding a request from the Public Utilities Management Company to acquire a license for smart toilets in car parks.

However, the request for multi-storey car parks could not be granted because there is no contract in place with the company.
Proposal for smart toilets in car parks
Public Utilities Management Company chief executive officer, Eng. Saleh Al-Othman, has also written a letter to the head of the Municipal Council proposing to license smart toilets within multi-storey and surface car parks.
In his letter, Al-Othman states that the company is committed to supporting the state’s efforts in organising the region to achieve Kuwait’s future vision.
He also mentions the company’s desire to develop the services it provides to the public and visitors to the car parks it manages and operates.
The proposed self-service smart toilet service would have a nominal fee and would be constructed, equipped, and periodically maintained and cleaned according to modern international standards.
