The UAE government has announced a one-week holiday for its public sector employees to celebrate Eid Al Fitr, the holiday marking the end of Ramadan.
The UAE Cabinet approved the holidays from Monday, April 8 to Sunday, April 14.
This means government ministries, federal entities and other public sector organisations will be closed for seven days.
The holiday is intended to allow public workers to observe Eid Al Fitr, one of the most important festivals in the Islamic calendar.
Normal work will resume on Monday, April 15 after the one-week break.
