The UAE has announced that Friday, 5 September 2025, will be a public holiday for federal employees to mark the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

The announcement was made by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) on Tuesday.

This marks a three-day weekend for many, from Friday 5 September to Sunday 7 September.

The confirmation of the date follows the sighting of the crescent of Rabi Al-Awwal and the start of the third month in the Islamic Hijri calendar.
