UAE residents can look forward to the next long weekend in approximately nine weeks, as the nation gears up for Aarafat day.
Ararfat Day is the second day of the week-long Hajj pilgrimage an is expected to be on Tuesday, June 27, this year.
This will be followed by Eid Al Adha, which will be celebrated over a three-day weekend, starting from Wednesday, June 28 to Friday, June 30. However, like all Islamic holidays, the duration of the weekend will depend on the moon sighting.

Eid Al Adha holidays could also be the longest break for 2023, as residents would be able to take a six-day break, combined with the weekend.
Three-day weekend for UAE
Hijri New Year or Islamic New Year will fall on Friday July 21, this year, which means residents will get a three-day weekend.
Following Islamic New Year, residents will once again have a three-day weekend on account of Prophet Mohammed’s birthday falls on Friday September 29.
52nd UAE National Day holidays
In December, residents can take advantage of the UAE National Day holiday, which falls on December 2, Saturday, this year.
Remaining 2023 holidays for UAE
Last year in November, the UAE Cabinet revealed the dates of the holidays for both the public and private sectors.
June 27: Arafat Day (subject to moon sighting)
June 28 to 30: Eid Al Adha (subject to moon sighting)
July 21: Islamic New Year
September 29: Prophet Mohammed’s birthday
December 2 and 3: UAE National Day
In 2019, the UAE government said that private sector workers would receive the same number of holidays as government employees, in order to achieve a balance between the two key sectors.
