Kuwait’s Burgan Bank appoints new CEO

Eguren replaces Raed Al Haqhaq, the chief banking officer-senior general manager at Burgan.

Kuwaiti lender Burgan Bank, the commercial banking arm of Kuwait Projects Co (KIPCO), said it appointed Eduardo Eguren as its chief executive officer.

Eguren replaces Raed Al Haqhaq, the chief banking officer-senior general manager at Burgan, who has been the acting CEO since February, the bank said in a press statement on Sunday.

Burgan Bank, made a loss of KD8.73m ($30.43m) in the second quarter, after booking provisions against high-risk loans, having made a profit in the same period a year ago. (Reuters)
