Saudi Arabia reported 2,736 cases of coronavirus on Sunday, taking the total number of Covid-19 infections in the kingdom to 54,752.
Health Minister Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah also revealed that a further ten people had died from the virus. The death toll now stands at 312.
Dr Abdulaali said the large majority of cases were reported in Makkah (557), Riyadh (488), Madinah (392), Jeddah (375), Dammam (286), Hofuf (149), Jubail (149), Taif (81) and Khobar (51), with further cases scattered over the kingdom.
There are currently 28,718 active cases across the country, with 202 patients receiving intensive care.
On a positive note, Dr Abdulaali announced that 2,056 more people had recovered from the Covid-19 virus, bringing the total recoveries to 25,722 cases.
Across the GCC there are over 137,700 confirmed cases of coronavirus: Saudi Arabia (54,752), Qatar (32,604), UAE (23,358), Kuwait (14,850), Bahrain (6,956) and Oman (5,186).
