Some 659 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in the UAE after officials carried out an additional 54,000 tests over the past 24 hours.
It takes the total number of infections in the country to 37,018.
The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHaP) also revealed that three more people have died at the hands of the Covid-19 virus, with the country’s death toll now standing at 270.

On a positive note, it was announced that a further 419 people had recovered from coronavirus, with the total recoveries reaching 19,572.
On Wednesday it was announced that Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah airports would all reopen for transit flights. However, Saif Al Dhaheri, spokesman of the National Crisis and Emergency Management Authority, stressed that regular passenger flights from all airports remain suspended.
