Motorists will now be able to enter Abu Dhabi with the use of a laser-based DPI technique at the border that will test for Covid-19 and reveal the results within seconds.
The UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention has adopted a device developed by Abu Dhabi-based QuantLase Imaging Lab to mass screen potential Covid-19 cases and implemented its use to screen people quicker for the coronavirus.
Travellers to the Emirate of Abu Dhabi can be screened for COVID-19 upon entry by a laser-based DPI technique. A negative result will allow entry to #AbuDhabi, while a positive result will lead to further testing through a PCR test. pic.twitter.com/2XiVVqgNNP

The laser-based DPI technique can detect virus-caused inflammation in blood samples within seconds.
For travellers with positive results, a further a nose swab PCR test is mandatory at the same location. Once the PCR test has been done, travellers are advised to return to their homes and avoid contact with others, until obtaining the results.

In order to avoid any delays, those entering the emirate are encouraged to plan their visits ahead and undergo tests in advance as much as possible.
People who test negative for the virus will be allowed to enter the UAE’s capital within 48 hours of receiving the result.
