The UAE’s Ministry of Education has given schools permission to close two hours early for today’s Asian Cup semi-final.

Hosts UAE take on Qatar in the crunch Asian Cup match in Abu Dhabi at 6pm (UAE time) at Mohamed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, with the winners playing Japan in the final on Friday at the same venue.

The ministry said the offer to close two hours early applies to both public and private schools in the UAE, which it said will give students the opportunity to support the UAE.
