Over half of Saudi businesses hit by cyberattack

54 percent of companies in the Kingdom experienced a security event that impacted business

More than half of Saudi organisations experienced cyberattacks that affected business in 2022, Cisco revealed the KSA findings of its latest security outcomes report at LEAP 2023.

The annual security study consists of responses from more than 4,700 participants across 26 countries. 

Importance of security resilience in Saudi Arabia

Studies in the Kingdom revealed that 54 percent of organisations surveyed experienced a security event that impacted business. The most common incidents were distributed denial of service attacks, network system outages and malicious insider abuse events.

The incidents resulted in severe effects for companies.

Salman Faqeeh, Managing Director, Cisco Saudi Arabia said “In the last few years, the Kingdom has taken confident steps towards digitization, bringing new opportunities to the country. This progress must be accompanied hand-in-hand by a sharp focus on cybersecurity.”
