Dell is ringing the changes on its executive team, as CEO Michael Dell tries to turn its fortunes around.
Ron Garriques, who was previously running the devices division of Motorola, has been hired to run a new global consumer business unit, Dell said last month. The unit will cover all consumer products and all geographies.
“As the number of people online doubles from one to two billion over the next several years, the majority of new consumers will be located in fast-growing and emerging markets,” Dell said in a statement.
The firm also announced this week that David Marmonti has been promoted to senior vice president in charge of business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). He replaces Paul Bell, who was promoted to take charge of Dell’s America’s business.
Another executive promotion will see Stephen Felice run operations in the Asia-Pacific region, the firm said in a statement.
