Young UAE gaming enthusiasts now have a chance to display and further develop their talent designing games, and compete for a prize pool of AED100,000 as well.

Tawazun Council and Bayanat, in collaboration with Endless Studios, announced the launch of the UAE Game Makers Competition 2024. The nationwide contest invites young people to design games that integrate UAE cultural elements into their creations.

The initiative is expected to spark the learning journey and enable UAE youngsters to master future digital skills using their enthusiasm for gaming.

Tawazun Council is an independent government entity that works closely with the Ministry of Defense and security agencies in the UAE, and accelerating ecosystem growth by nationalising key acquisitions and capabilities, driving local content and creating in-country value is one of its key objectives.

Shareef Hashim Al Hashmi, CEO of Operations at Tawazun Council, said this was part of his company’s commitment to inspiring UAE youth to explore creative and technological fields. He emphasised the initiative’s role in advancing regional technology and fostering cultural pride by encouraging young people to draw from their rich heritage, thereby investing in future leaders and innovators.

Hasan Al Hosani, Managing Director of Bayanat, said that by creating gaming content that is engaging, educational, and culturally relevant, UAE Game Makers Competition 2024 aims to bridge generations and preserve heritage while fostering technological progress.

Matt Dalio, CEO of Endless Studios, added: “The competition is a significant milestone in this mission, blending Emirati cultural heritage with gaming to celebrate the past and shape a future where technology and tradition coexist. This competition goes beyond a typical contest by celebrating the exceptional talent in the UAE and nurturing young innovators.”
