Emirates has announced that it will operate limited passenger flights to carry travellers from a number of select destinations to the UAE, including Frankfurt and London Heathrow.
Passengers can check which flights are currently operating into Dubai on the airline’s essential travel destinations guide at https://www.emirates.com/ae/english/help/essential-travel/, which the airline says it is updating regularly.
To determine whether they are eligible to travel, passengers must need to have Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) approval via the UAE Twajudi Resident service before they book their flights.
Upon arrival in Dubai, passengers will be subject to stringent entry restrictions, including a mandatory health test upon arrival, a 14-day quarantine period and a follow-on test before their release.
Additionally, all Emirates aircraft are going through enhanced cleaning and disinfection processes in Dubai after each journey.
“Covid-19 flight and travel restrictions remain in place across many countries around the world,” the Emirates update said. “We are closely monitoring the situation as it evolves, and we hope to resume services as soon as conditions allow.”
“This includes receiving government approvals, the easing of travel restrictions and commercial demand,” the update added. “We will announce any service resumption when we are in a position to do so.”

On Friday, Abu Dhabi’s Etihad also announced that it will begin limited inbound operations from a select number of cities to Abu Dhabi, starting with a flight from London on Saturday, May 9.
