An airport in Saudi Arabia has announced a list of banned items for passengers.

King Abdulaziz International Airport has revealed the items prohibited for all passengers passing through the airport.

The banned items are divided between items prohibited from hand luggage as well as items banned from any luggage type in any place on the plane.

Saudi airport reveals banned item list

According to a post on the airports official Twitter account, the following items are banned from cabin baggage:  

  • Blades   
  • Toxic liquids
  • Compressed gas      
  • Army knives    
  • Firearms and replicas             
  • Explosives             
  • Ice skates             
  • Baseball bats       
  • Nail accessories     
  • Tools            
  • Corrosives            
  • Radioactive materials               
  • Ammunition       
  • Meat cleavers                   
  • Knives                   
  • Scissors

The airport said: “Please be informed that the prohibited items will be confiscated. The passenger has no right to demand it back”.

A separate list of items prohibited from checked baggage includes:       

  • Liquid oxygen devices                
  • Hoverboards                
  • Electro shock and disabling devices           
  • Radioactive materials              
  • Oxidisers or organic peroxides      
  • Explosives       
  • Compressed gases                
  • Flammable liquids                    
  • Matches and lighters                        
  • Toxic or infectious substances                    
  • Corrosives                     
  • Magnetised materials               
  • Firearms and replicas                     
  • Security-type cash boxes, bags or attaché cases

Furthermore, the Saudi airport’s advisory said: “Loose or spare batteries of all kinds, including articles which have the primary purpose as a power source e.g. power banks, are not permitted in checked baggage”.
