Hospitality giant Marriott has signed an agreement to operate a five-star hotel close to the Al Forsan International Sports Resort in Abu Dhabi.

The luxury Marriott Al Forsan Hotel is slated to open later this year following the management agreement, a statement said.

The hotel features 400 rooms and suites, seven restaurants and lounges, a spa and fitness centre, a 50 meter lap and landscaped pools, it added.

“We are delighted to partner with Marriott International… This strategic addition of a world class hotel within the Al Forsan Village ecosystem was conceived during the initial design phase of the project, and this will significantly benefit the tourists visiting Abu Dhabi and residents alike,” said Saif Al Hajeri, chairman of Al Forsan Holding.

“We are extremely proud to have the Marriott Al Forsan Hotel as the first property with our new partners Al Forsan Holding. It represents not only a platform on which to grow our relationship but also to continue the expansion of our brands,” added Alex Kyriakidis, president and managing director, Marriott International Middle East and Africa.

Al Forsan has been planned as a 1.6 million sqm facility which includes an equestrian centre, motor sports circuit, water sports facilities, paintball fields, shooting ranges, and five restaurants as well as conference and meetings space.
