UAE residents travelling to Thailand will be offered an e-visa from January 1, 2025.
Starting from Wednesday, January 1, 2025, UAE residents can apply for an e-visa online and will no longer be required to visit the Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi or the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Dubai to submit passports and original copies of supporting documents.
Thailand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs is launching a global e-visa system to allow visitors to apply to visit the country as it looks to boost tourism from around the world.

The simplified e-visa application process for UAE residents must be conducted through the official e-visa portal. The consulate general stated that it has “authorised any agencies or travel agents to process the visa applications on the applicants’ behalf and a visa fee must be paid through the official portal ONLY”.

- A valid passport with at least 6 months of validity
- A recent passport-size photograph
- Proof of UAE residency (valid residence visa or resident identity card)
- Return travel booking confirmation from the United Arab Emirates
- Proof of accommodation in Thailand (Such as a hotel booking or invitation letter)
The e-visa for UAE residents costs AED400 ($109) and is valid for 60 days.
E-visa processing is expected to take between five and 20 days and applications must be made via the official www.thaievisa.go.th portal.
