The Kuwait Ministry of Interior (MoI) has announced new flexible working hours for employees working in the government sector.
The move was granted by Kuwait’s Civil Service Council.
The authority said that the new rules allows employees to work flexible hours, with the morning attendance period between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM, followed by the dismissal period between 1:30 PM and 3:30 PM.
Under the new rules, government agencies have the authority to opt for either a flexible work system or a fixed-period system, based on their specific requirements and preferences.
Kuwait workers get 30-minute grace period
Moreover, employees will have the opportunity to work for seven hours, with the added benefit of a 30-minute grace period.
This innovative approach allows government workers to use the grace period at the beginning or end of their official working hours, affording them the flexibility to adjust their schedules accordingly.
This shift towards more adaptable work hours is anticipated to have many advantages, with one mainly being that it empowers employees by offering them greater control over their work timetables.
This newfound flexibility is expected to enhance employee satisfaction and boost overall productivity within government agencies.
