Dubai Opera will host its first ever Arabic music festival on April 28th, the opera announced on Thursday.
The festival – called dxbeats – will include some of the region’s most popular progressive artists, include Lebanese indie music icon Yasmine Hamdan, Egyptian band Sharmoofers, rock band The Wanton Bishops, Moroccan superstar Manal.
The UAE will be represented by Dubai-based singer and rapper Moh Flow, alongside his elder brother, producer and engineer Ayham.
For the festival, which will include various genres including reggaeton, pop, funk, jazzy blues, rock, rap and hip-hop, the Dubai Opera will be transformed into a flat-floor concert hall, creating capacity for 3,000 people.
“Dxbeats is about bringin the best Arab sounds from the region to Dubai’s best sage,” said Dubai Opera CEO Jasper Hope. “With five incredible artists on the same bill playing to nearly 3,000 fans, it’s going to be an epic night and an incredible atmosphere.”
