As Germany continues to bask in the glory of winning the 2014 FIFA World Cup, it is no surprise that the European country sits atop the latest FIFA world rankings of the best football nations in the world.
Germany has accumulated 1,724 points, while defeated finalist Argentina takes the second spot with 1,606 points.
Within the Middle East and Asia, Japan takes the top spot with 604 points and is placed 45th overall. Iran, which played in the recent World Cup in Brazil but was knocked out of Group F, a grouping that also included eventual finalist Argentina, takes the top spot among the Asian Football Confederation Ranking.
