A new bridge has opened in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, intended to ease traffic along the heavily congested King Abdulaziz Road.
Saudi Gazette reported that motorists “breathed a sigh of relief” when Al Meena Bridge opened to traffic last week.
The bridge provides easy access to King Fahd Port in Dammam and is typically heavily congested due to the presence of large trucks going into and out of the sea port.
King Abdulaziz Road was closed for more than two years while the bridge was built, forcing drivers to take alternative routes and resulting in bottlenecks across the city, the newspaper said.
