Al Meena Bridge intended to ease traffic flow to and from the port
A new bridge has opened in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, intended to ease traffic along the heavily congested King Abdulaziz Road.
Saudi Gazette reported that motorists “breathed a sigh of relief” when Al Meena Bridge opened to traffic last week.
The bridge provides easy access to King Fahd Port in Dammam and is typically heavily congested due to the presence of large trucks going into and out of the sea port.
King Abdulaziz Road was closed for more than two years while the bridge was built, forcing drivers to take alternative routes and resulting in bottlenecks across the city, the newspaper said. For all the latest transport news from the UAE and Gulf countries, follow us on Twitter and Linkedin, like us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube page, which is updated daily.
