Bahrain has reiterated its commitment to building 25,000 housing units within the next 4 years.

According to the country’s Housing Minister, Bassim bin Yaqoob Al Hamar, 13% of the project has been completed.

Al Hamar told Akhbar Al-Khaleej newspaper that the construction will not be affected by the plunging oil prices. However, he added that the same cannot be predicted for future projects.

He also said the ministry was keen on working alongside the private sector in the construction of the housing units in order to keep up with growing demand and decrease the waiting period.

Al Hamar said the ministry has been successful in establishing partnership with the private sector in the past two years.
