Gulf Air, the national carrier of Bahrain, has welcomed its third Airbus A320neo, which on October 26 will begin operating to Male in the Maldives, the airline's latest destination.
The aircraft delivery is part of a major fleet development project, which will see the airline receive a total of 12 Airbus A320neo planes by the end of 2023.
“We are proud of this fantastic milestone as we continue with our brand promise in expanding our fleet along with our network,” said Krešimir Kucko, CEO at Gulf Air.
“The Maldives is a breath-taking destination that fits perfectly in our new boutique strategy where we cater to the premium traveller seeking a tropical holiday wrapped in luxury," he added.
Gulf Air will operate five weekly non-stop flights from Bahrain International Airport.
Gulf Air said its A320neo is more eco-friendly with 5,000 tonnes less CO2 emissions per year per aircraft, and a near 50 percent reduction in noise.
Gulf Air today serves 49 cities in 26 countries with a combination of wide and narrow body fleet of 37 aircraft. For all the latest travel news from the UAE and Gulf countries, follow us on Twitter and Linkedin, like us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube page, which is updated daily.
