Signing continues accelerated growth of the Voco brand across Saudi Arabia
InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has signed an agreement with Nouh Mohamad Nouh and Partners Limited to launch Voco Jeddah Gate.
Jeddah Gate marks the third signing in of IHG’s upscale brand Voco in Saudi Arabia in nine months and follows the recent announcement of signing of world’s largest Voco in Makkah.
Expected to open in January 2021, Voco Jeddah Gate will be IHG’s sixth hotel in Jeddah and the fifth brand from the IHG family.
The 681-key hotel will occupy a premium location in the Fayhaa area within Jeddah Gate, an integrated master-planned community, which will feature a combination of residential housing units, accommodation, commercial areas and recreational amenities.
In addition to two dining options, Voco Jeddah Gate will offer MICE facilities, including four meeting rooms to accommodate up to 600 guests.
“Voco has been received extremely well in Saudi Arabia and we are encouraged with the confidence that our owners and partners have shown in the brand,” said Pascal Gauvin, managing director, IHG India, Middle East & Africa.
“With Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia is poised for a new era of travel as the country undergoes a historic period of growth and transformation. This presents unprecedented opportunities for the tourism and hospitality industries and the kingdom remains a priority market for us,” he said.
Since being launched globally just over a year ago, IHG’s Voco has enjoyed rapid growth with multiple signings across the Middle East.
IHG currently operates 92 hotels across seven brands in the Middle East, including InterContinental Hotels and Resorts, Crowne Plaza Hotels and Resorts, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Staybridge Suites, Voco and Six Senses, with a further 38 in the development pipeline due to open within the next three to five years.
