InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has signed a management agreement with The Arabian Hospitality Company for a Holiday Inn in Saudi Arabia.
Once completed, the 700-key property will be IHG’s fourth hotel in Madinah, joining InterContinental Dar Al Hijra, InterContinental Dar Al Iman, and Crowne Plaza Madinah.
Holiday Inn Madinah West will be in close proximity to Prince Mohammed bin Abdul Aziz International Airport in Madinah, making it a great base for religious tourists, the hotel group said in as statement.
Pascal Gauvin, managing director, India, Middle East & Africa, IHG said: “Given their solid presence in the Middle East, we are excited to partner with The Arabian Hospitality Company as we strengthen our presence in Saudi Arabia.
“Religious tourism remains a major driving force of Saudi’s economy and we continue to strengthen our offering to cater to this important group of travellers. Holiday Inn is a brand known and preferred by travellers across the globe, and we are confident that Holiday Inn Madinah West will be a great success.”
IHG currently operates 33 hotels across four brands in Saudi Arabia with a further 20 in the development pipeline due to open within the next three to five years.
