Sharjah International Airport witnessed an increase in cargo movement by 28.3% in July 2006, compared to the same month last year.
The airport handled 46.659 tonnes of cargo during this period, including imports, exports and transit consignments.
The positive results follow the airport’s attempts to improve services for passengers and operating airlines, including the new ‘Hala’ service, which aims to provide an uncomplicated system for immigration, customs and police procedures.
Sharjah International Airport also reported an increase in aircraft movement by 21.6% and passenger traffic by 45.4%.
