STME ready to roll out EMC’s new CLARiiON CX200

Storage specialist STME has announced full regional support for EMC’s new CLARiiON CX200 storage system for small-to-medium level customers

STME has announced full regional support for EMC’s new CLARiiON CX200 storage system. The storage specialist is putting in place certified staff to promote the range, and is also planning an educational campaign to promote the new system to small-to-medium sized businesses.“The regional launch of the EMC CX200 is timed ideally to coincide with STME’s own increased expansion into the Middle East’s SME market,” said Trevor Hutson, president and chief operating officer for STME. “STME’s more than 20 years of experience in the region’s storage industry has indicated that storage is increasingly becoming a central business issue not only for large enterprises, but for businesses of every size and across diverse vertical sectors.”The CX200 is the little brother of the CLARiiON CX400 and CX600, and is aimed at smaller-scale deployments than the previous two devices. STME will be promoting the CX200 as a workgroup and departmental storage device, that is suitable for entry-level deployments. The device has a compact, modular design, and is designed to be easy to install and manage. It has a throughput of 25,000 I/Os per second, and 200 megabytes of bandwidth in cached environments. It is also upgradeable to the CX400 or CX600. “Scalability, or the ability to grow rapidly as data storage needs increase, is a key concern for Middle East-based businesses. The combination of the new EMC CX200 and STME’s expertise in the regional market will ensure that small and mid-size organisations investing in storage will have a clear growth path that meets their specific business objectives,” Hutson said.
