The world’s tallest building is ready to ring in the new year, several plans and preparations have been made for the spectacular firework show on December 31, expected to attract thousands of visitors.
The Burj Khalifa is equipped with 828 meters of fireworks, 2500 firing directions, 287 firing positions, 22000 gallons of water in the air, 344 underwater robots, 145000 watts of light power and 4000 watts of lasers.
For those planning to visit the Downtown area to watch the firework show, a traffic plan has been mapped out by Dubai Police in conjunction with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to ease mobility and traffic on December 31, as tourists and residents travel across the city to celebrate New Year’s Eve.
The public is urged to cooperate with police and traffic instructions to avoid congestion and alerted to call emergency number 999 and non-emergency number 901 or approach officers on site when required.
