Qatar has announced the first day of Eid Al Fitr will be Wednesday, April 10 after the crescent moon was not spotted on Monday.
The Crescent Sighting Committee at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs announced that, Tuesday, April 9, 2024, will be last day of the holy month of Ramadan.

The Crescent Sighting Committee at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs issued a statement after its meeting at the headquarters of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs on Monday evening.
In its statement, the Crescent Sighting Committee said it held its meeting on Monday evening, Ramadan 29, 1445 AH, corresponding to April 8, 2024, to sight the crescent of Shawwal month, and prove the testimony of who sees it.
The Committee extends greetings on the occasion of advent of the blessed Eid Al Fitr to the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, HH the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, HH the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Thani, as well as the honourable government, the people of Qatar and all Muslims.
It means that Ramadan will last for 30 days in the country this year.
The announcement was made by the Committee on Qatar Television.
Previously, Qatar has announced holiday dates for the public sector.
On the occasion of Eid Al Fitr, the Amiri Diwan announced that the holiday for ministries, other government entities, and public institutions starts on Sunday Ramadan 28 1445 AH, corresponding to April 7, 2024, and ends on Monday, corresponding to April 15, 2024.
Employees are to resume work on Tuesday, April 16, 2024.
