Sheikh Mohamed orders $2.1bn of housing support in Abu Dhabi

UAE President brings Abu Dhabi Housing Authority benefit payments to more than $44bn

Abu Dhabi’s Crown Prince has ordered the payment of AED7.72bn ($2.1bn) in housing support to citizens.

Under the directives of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in his capacity as Ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has approved the disbursement of the third housing benefits package in 2024 to citizens of the Emirate.

These benefits, which are valued at AED7.72bn ($2.1bn), have been distributed among 5,374 citizens across the emirate.

The third package includes housing loans totalling more than AED3.569bn ($972m) in value and aiding 2,373 citizens. The package also includes residential land and housing grants worth AED3.67bn ($999m), benefiting 2,540 citizens.

Additionally, senior citizens, retirees with low incomes, and the families of deceased citizens have been exempted from housing loan payments amounting to more than AED486m ($132m).

This exemption has directly benefited 461 citizens in the emirate.

With this package, the total value of housing benefits disbursed during 2024 has reached AED13.216bn ($3.6bn), benefiting 8,891 citizens across the emirate.

It includes the exemption of senior citizens, retirees with low incomes, and the families of deceased citizens, from housing loan payments amounting to AED847.2m ($231m) – benefiting 805 citizens – and housing loans totalling AED8.361bn ($2.3bn) – benefiting 5,194 citizens – as well as AED4bn ($1.1bn) in residential land and housing grants, benefiting 2,892 citizens.

With this package, the total value of housing benefits disbursed since the establishment of Abu Dhabi Housing Authority has reached approximately AED162.1bn ($44.1bn), covering more than 118,700 housing benefits.

The disbursement of this year’s third housing benefits package coincides with the UAE’s celebrations marking Eid Al Etihad, falling on December 2, reflecting the leadership’s continued dedication to ensuring the wellbeing of Emirati families.
