UAE astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi has shared an Eid greeting from the International Space Station.
The pioneering Emirati is on board the International Space Station as part of a six-month Arab mission and shared a message wishing friends, family and other Earth-dwellers peace, happiness and prosperity.
Al Neyadi was wearing a traditional UAE kandura and playing Arabic music while orbiting more than 400km above the planet’s surface.

Neyadi gave a video tour inside the International Space Station and was joined in zero-gravity by Suhail, a soft toy version of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre mascot.
In a message on Twitter posted on the first day of Eid in the UAE, Neyadi said: “Today, I’ll be celebrating Eid with my trusty companion Suhail. On this blessed occasion I send my warmest greetings to my family, friends, and everyone back on Earth.
“May this special occasion bring you peace, happiness, and prosperity. Eid Mubarak!”
Next week, Neyadi will make history by being the first Arab to walk in space.
Inspirational Al Neyadi and his Crew-6 teammates docked with the International Space Station (ISS) in March following a 24-hour flight on board the SpaceX Dragon Endeavor spacecraft.
On April 28 will take a giant leap and step outside the space station for a historic spacewalk.
