Emirati version of LA Law to be filmed in Abu Dhabi

Series described as LA Law meets Dallas in Abu Dhabi; Image Nation to oversee 20 one-hour episodes

An Emirati TV series, temporarily called “Emirati LA Law,” is set to be filmed in Abu Dhabi, local media has revealed.

The show is based on the 1986 US TV series, “LA Law.”

Just like its predecessor, it will tell the story of a young Emirati lawyer, and her attorney father, dealing with challenging legal cases and personal drama.

It will entail 20 one-hour episode series overseen by Image Nation Abu Dhabi and local partner Beelink Productions.

“The series is best described as LA Law meets Dallas in Abu Dhabi, which captures both the scale and calibre we are aiming for in this series,” said chief executive of Image Nation, Michael Garin, was quoted as saying by The National.

Emirati LA Law was developed by the original show’s screenwriter and producer, Billy Finkelstein.

It is supported by the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, which has reportedly checked the storyline to ensure authenticity.

According to Garin, several US studios and distributors have expressed interest in the series.
