AB Women in Business 2022: Unpacking the biggest challenges and opportunities facing working women in the Middle East

The AB Women in Business Conference is set to bring together more than 200 leading businesswomen, entrepreneurs and humanitarians

In the post-pandemic world the issue of retaining and harnessing talent has never been more vital. Now, with global competitiveness continuing its inexorable increase, countries around the world have continued to push to harness the talents of women and embrace their impact in the public and private sectors.

In the UAE, Covid-19 sparked a surge in the number of women founding their own businesses, with female business founders growing 68 percent in 2020. Experts and industry leaders have also previously pointed to the “significant progress” the country has made in empowering women at legislative, institutional, strategic levels.

In this context, it has never been more important to unpack the challenges and opportunities’ that working women are facing in the region.

Now in its third year, the AB Women in Business Conference, set to be held on September 21, will shine a spotlight in the role of women in business throughout the Arab world, engaging in high level discussion, debate, analysis, and success stories.

A packed agenda will see experts and thought leaders break down how employers can better empower their female workforce, and, on the flipside, how women can overcome cultural challenges to break down occupational segregation in male dominated professions.

The role that regulation plays in promoting inclusivity and women in business, along with the outlook for female entrepreneurs in the region will also take centre stage.
