UAE telecoms giant Etisalat will offer customers the chance to pre-order iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s plus from October 2, ahead of the start of official sales on October 10, it was announced on Tuesday.
Customers can pre-order the smartphones at www.etisalat.ae/iPhone6s.
Apple announced on Monday it has sold more than 13 million new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus models, a new record, just three days after launch.
The Cupertino-based company announced it will begin the roll-out of the new handsets in an additional 40 countries in early October, with the device set to appear in the UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, and Jordan from October 10.
“Sales for iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus have been phenomenal, blowing past any previous first weekend sales results in Apple’s history,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO.
“Customers’ feedback is incredible and they are loving 3D Touch and Live Photos, and we can’t wait to bring iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus to customers in even more countries.”
iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus bring a new dimension to the device’s revolutionary multi-touch interface with 3D touch, which senses how deeply you press the display, letting you do essential things quicker and easier.
The new iPhones introduce Live Photos, which bring still images to life, transforming instants frozen in time into unforgettable living memories.
The new model also includes a 5-megapixel FaceTime HD camera with Retina Flash and is powered by the Apple-designed A9 chip, the most advanced chip ever in a smartphone, delivering faster performance and great battery life.
In the UAE, the new iPhones are available through Du and Etisalat and in Saudi Arabia through STC, Zain, and Mobily and in Kuwait through Ooredoo, Viva and Zain and in Qatar through Vodafone and Ooredoo and in Bahrain through Batelco, Viva and Zain and select Apple authorised resellers.
The iPhone 6s will be available in the UAE for a suggested retail price of AED2,599 ($707) for the 16GB model, AED2,999 for the 64GB model and AED3,399 for the 128GB model. iPhone 6s Plus will be available for a suggested retail price of AED2,999 for the 16GB model, AED3,399 for the 64GB model and AED3,799 for the 128GB model.
