Dubai has announced free parking and extended public transport operations for New Year’s Eve.
Except for the multi-level parking terminals, public parking will be free during the New Year’s Holiday on Monday, January 1 2024, and the parking tariff will be reactivated on Tuesday, January 2 2024.
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced the working hours for all services during the 2024 New Year’s Eve and Holiday.
Dubai Metro New Year’s Eve
The change in business hours relates to customer happiness centres, paid parking zones, public buses, Dubai Metro and Tram, marine transport means, and service provider centres (technical testing of vehicles).
Dubai Metro
The Metro will run for 40 extended operating hours to help transport people around the city over the New Year holidays.
The service hours of the Metro Red and Green Lines from December 31, 2023, to January 1, 2024, will be:
- Sunday, December 31 2023 from 8am to Monday, January 1 2024 at 11.59pm
Dubai Tram
The service hours of the Dubai Tram from December 31, 2023, to January 1, 2024, will be:
- Sunday, December 31 2023 from 9am to 11.59pm. Monday, January 1 2024 from midnight to 1am the next day
Public Buses
Buses will operate Monday to Thursday from 4.30am to 12.30am the next day). The timing of all metro link bus services will be synchronised with the metro times.

- (E16) from Al Sabkha to Hatta
- (E100) from Al Ghubaiba to Abu Dhabi
- (E101) from Ibn Battuta to Abu Dhabi
- (E102) from Al Jaffiliya to Musaffah Community
- (E201) from Al Ghubaiba to Al Ain
- (E303) from Union Station to Jubail in Sharjah
- (E306) from Al Ghubaiba to Jubail in Sharjah
- (E307) from Deira City Centre to Jubail in Sharjah
- (E307A) from Abu Hail to Jubail in Sharjah
- (E315) from Etisalat Station to Muwaileh in Sharjah
- (E400) from Union Station to Ajman
- (E411) from Etisalat Station to Ajman
- (E700) from Union Station to Fujairah
The following two routes will be redirected only from December 29, 2023 to January 1, 2024 as follows:
- Route (E100) will start from Ibn Battuta Station to Abu Dhabi
- Route (E102) will start from Ibn Battuta Station to Musaffah Community
Marine Transport
Traditional abras will operate on Sunday, December 31 at:
- Dubai Old Souq – Baniyas (CR3) from 11am to 8pm
- Al Fahidi – Al Sabkha (CR4) from 11am to 8pm
- Al Fahidi – Deira Old Souq (CR5) from 11am to 8pm
- Baniyas – Al Seef (CR6) from 11am to 8pm and 12.30am (past midnight) to 2am
- Dubai Old Souq – Al Fahidi – Al Seef (CR7) from 3.10pm to 8pm
- Festival City – Dubai Creek Harbour (CR9) from 4pm to 8pm
- Al Jaddaf – Festival City (BM2) from 8am to 8pm, and 12.30am (past midnight) to from 2am
There will not be tourist journeys from Sheikh Zayed Road Station (TR6). BM1 Marina: Marina Promenade – Marina Mall – Marina Walk – Marina Terrace, and Marina Mall – Marina Walk: 12pm – 8pm. Marina Promenade – Marina Mall, 3.55pm – 8pm. Marina Terrace – Marina Walk, 4pm – 8pm. Circular line: 3.55pm – 8pm and 12.30 (past midnight) – 2am (next day).

Customer Happiness Centres
All RTA’s customer happiness centres will be closed on Monday, January 1, 2024.
Smart customer happiness centres in Umm Ramool, Deira, Al Barsha, Al Kifaf, and RTA’s Head Office will operate as usual, around the clock.
