Dubai‘s Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA) has launched the ‘Tawash’ system for gold and jewellery transportation, following its introduction at Intersec 2025.
The announcement came during a gathering at the Aman Security Training Centre in Dubai, where gold and jewellery companies witnessed the system’s capabilities in transforming transportation into a monitored operation.
“Today, ‘Tawash’ has officially entered the operational phase,” Jassim Taher, Director of Special Projects at SIRA said in a statement.

The system enables secure transfers between commercial entities with real-time monitoring by law enforcement authorities, replacing traditional cash transport companiess.
SIRA has mandated the use of security bags that meet testing and certification requirements. The bags include smart alarm systems, sirens for security breaches, electronic locks, and protection against cutting or breaking tools.
Dubai Police will conduct instant audits of transport operations through verification measures. Companies will also face fines for transporting gold beyond permitted limits without security measures.
SIRA has called for companies to implement the system’s standards to maintain market security in Dubai.
