Emirates SkyCargo has continued its full pace expansion into the Americas by offering offline cargo capacity to Mexico.

Having recently launched direct non-stop services to Sao Paulo and Toronto, the Dubai-based carrier has officially opened operations to Mexico through the appointment of Mexican Cargo Sales Representative as its cargo sales agent. Cargo from Mexico will connect to Emirates’ route network from New York and Frankfurt, using interline partners such as Atlas Air, Aeromexico and Mexican.

“The Americas represent the final frontier for Emirates SkyCargo, which is why we are keen to launch services and forge business partnerships in its major markets. Mexico is an exciting market with its range of fresh agricultural produce, juxtaposed with an oil-based economy and an extremely modern service industry,” said Hiran Perera, senior vice president of freighters, Emirates.”Our extensive and dense network will ensure that Mexican exporters can now explore new markets in Middle East and beyond, particularly in Asia and Africa.”

The service is available using Atlas Air freighter capacity every Thursday from Frankfurt to Mexico with the return flight every Friday. Exports from Mexico are expected to include temperature sensitive products, oil industry machinery and fresh produce such as fruits, vegetables, coffee and cotton. Emirates SkyCargo has therefore predicted its cool chain solutions to prove a valued source to the route.

“Our partnership will provide Mexican traders with world-class services and access to global markets. Given the demand and eagerness among trade circles, we expect more than 100 tonnes of Mexican cargo to connect to Emirates SkyCargo’s network every week,” said Pablo Alcocer, president and director general of Mexican Cargo Sales Representative.
