India’s full service airline Vistara announced plans to further expand its Middle East network, with a new direct flight service to Muscat from Mumbai.
The new daily service to the Omani capital is to commence from December 12.
Vistara – a joint venture of Indian conglomerate Tata Group and Singapore Airlines – will operate daily flights between the two cities using its A320neo aircraft.
The Indian carrier has also announced a special introductory return Muscat-Mumbai fare starting from OMR99 for economy, OMR199 for premium economy and OMR349 for business class.
Vinod Kannan, chief executive officer, Vistara, said with the new flight operation, the airline would be expanding its presence in the Middle East to the fourth city in the region.
“Given the strong bilateral ties and the thriving trade and investment relations between India and Oman, this new route will further aid the growing traffic between the two countries,” Kannan said.
Kannan said the capital city of Muscat continued to attract a significant number of expats, traders, business travellers, and high-end leisure travellers from India who will now have the choice of flying business class and premium economy on the airline, with its signature hospitality services.
The airline said bookings for the flights were being progressively opened on all channels, including its website, mobile app, and through travel agents.
