A day after it was announced that Elon Musk, co-founder and CEO of Tesla, will attend the company’s launch event in Dubai on February 13, the Dubai Media Office tweeted a video of driverless Tesla Model S on Dubai roads.
The tweet says the UAE is only one of [the] many new markets in which Tesla plans to expand in 2017 ahead of the launch of the Model 3.

The 55-second clip shows people getting into a Tesla car on Sheikh Zayed Road and Emirates Towers where the driverless car asks them their destination, highlighting the map of Dubai on their window screen. The passengers are then seen selecting their destination.
According to Tesla website, the car is priced at $35,000 before incentives in the US with production beginning in mid-2017 with the delivery estimated for new reservations in mid-2018 or later.
The video ends with a statement stating, “25 percent of Dubai’s transport will be autonomous by 2030.”
The Dubai government 2030 initiative was unveiled in April 2016 which projected to generate economic revenues and savings of up to $5.99 billion (AED22 billion) a year.
