Hotel operator OYO set to woo cricket fans globally with up to 40% discounts for Dubai’s Asia Cup

The travel tech company will offer a flat 25 percent discount to cricket fans during the entre Asia Cup tournament period and a mega 40 percent discount during the India-Pakistan matches at select luxurious OYO Homes in Dubai

India-based global hospitality major OYO is set to unveil a major campaign to woo cricket fans from around the world for the forthcoming Asia Cup tournament in Dubai, with plans to offer discounts up to 40 percent in its select properties in the emirate.

The travel tech company will offer a flat 25 percent discount to cricket fans during the entire Asia Cup tournament period, while it plans to woo fans, especially the diehard cricket fans from the sub-continent, with a mega 40 percent discount during the India-Pakistan match.

The discounts will be offered for stay at select luxurious OYO Homes in Dubai.

The tournament, slated to be held between August 27 and September 11, will see Asian rivals India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan teams slogging out to bag the coveted trophy.

The most highly anticipated clash – rather battle – of the tournament will be the India-Pakistan match, which will be played on August 28.

“Offering discounts during the tournament is our humble way of honouring the sport and providing a world-class hospitality experience to all the cricket fans visiting Dubai for the tournament,” Ankit Tandon, OYO’s Global chief business officer and CEO – Southeast Asia and Middle East, told Arabian Business.

“Cricket is not just a sport in India but a religion that binds people together. India and Pakistan are two cricket-crazy nations and whenever these two teams clash, the emotions and excitement are at the very peak,” Tandon said, reasoning out the move to offer a higher discount for the match between the two sub-continent teams.

Tandon said they expect a huge response to the promotional offers as OYO Homes across Dubai are equipped with all the modern amenities and located within close vicinity of the stadium.

The mega 40 percent discount offer the India-Pakistan match, however, will be available to guests for bookings on August 26-28.

Daily tariffs at OYO luxury properties range from AED 210 to AED 1000.

Guests can do the bookings on OYO App or at www.oyorooms.com, with coupon code OYOT20INDOPAK for India-Pakistan matches and OYOT20DUBAI for the rest of the matches during the tournament.

Some of the key properties in OYO’s portfolio include Najma Tower – a fully furnished spectacular homestay within a 2 minutes walking distance from the stadium and Maya Tower – a newly constructed building with all the modern amenities.

Tandon said OYO Homes were ideal for families and groups looking to unwind and relax at premium stays at affordable prices, as they are fully furnished and equipped with all modern amenities and facilities like gym and pool.

“Besides, these properties also come with ample living room space, making them ideal for a cozy match viewing set-up,” he said.

OYO operates over 157,000 hotel and home storefronts in more than 35 countries, including India, Europe and Southeast Asia as of March 31, 2021.

Meanwhile, Brigadier Rashid Khalifa Al Falasi, who is heading the coordinating meeting of the Dubai Events Security Committee (ESC) and acting assistant commandant for operations affairs in Dubai Police, has reviewed security measures for the matches to be held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium and reassured the security arrangements for the 15th edition of the Asia Cup cricket tournament.

Brig. Al Falasi also reviewed the latest intelligent technologies employed by the Dubai Police to secure the venue in collaboration with its key partners and members of the ESC.
