Revealed: Abu Dhabi’s new Santorini-inspired luxury resort in UAE

The 22-key retreat is set to make its debut in Q4 2023, including exclusive use buy-out options

Minor Hotels, a prominent hotel owner, operator, and investor, has announced the opening of Anantara Santorini Abu Dhabi Retreat, a new ultra-private luxury resort in the UAE.

The 22-key retreat is set to make its debut in Q4 2023, including exclusive use buy-out options.

Located in Ghantoot, situated halfway between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, Anantara Santorini is conveniently accessible, being a 25-minute drive from Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport and a 35-minute drive from Abu Dhabi International Airport.

The resort’s architecture draws inspiration from the iconic buildings of Santorini, and will feature low-lying white structures.

The accommodations are ultra-private, boasting spacious interiors, sun-drenched terraces, and pristine sea views. The decor is tastefully refined, featuring soft, neutral furnishings throughout the resort.

Guests at Anantara Santorini can take advantage of the private beach, the expansive outdoor pool overlooking the Gulf, and even request private screenings in the indoor cinema with custom gourmet cuisine.

Bespoke spa treatments can be taken in beachside cabanas, and 24-hour butler service ensures round-the-clock guest satisfaction.

Culinary experiences at the resort include an elegant restaurant dedicated to the region’s heritage, emphasising local ingredients and spices.

An ocean-side restaurant will be featured at the property, serving Greek delicacies.

Evenings at the resort will have late-night beverage offerings and cocktails, accompanied by ambient music from a resident DJ.

“This will be an exciting new addition to our luxury portfolio of properties across the United Arab Emirates. With a fantastic location equidistant between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, this ultra-private property offers exceptional facilities for full buy-outs, especially those seeking an intimate boutique experience unlike anywhere else in the UAE,” Dillip Rajakarier, Group CEO of Minor International and CEO of Minor Hotels said.

This opening marks Minor Hotels’ continued expansion in the Middle East, with eight Anantara hotels and resorts in the UAE and a total of 11 in the region.

The group manages 26 properties across five different brands, with a strong pipeline of future properties in the UAE, Qatar, and upcoming debuts in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
