The UAE has revealed a new tourist location where glamping tents are suspended amidst the Sharjah mountains.
The new project is developed by Ardh Architects, in partnership with Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq).
The project “is inspired by the practice of cliff camping and aims to make this exciting adventure more accessible to the general public,” the Ardh website reads.
Arriving at the Floating Retreat
Guests at the Floating Retreat will be welcomed by the operator, who will then direct them to their assigned hangers.
The hangers, shaped like a pyramid, are designed to provide a “comfortable and luxurious experience while still offering the excitement of camping in nature,” the website said.
In addition, the hangers also feature necessary amenities such as beds, electricity, and heating.
The Floating Retreat will also offer guests to experience a wide range of guests. This includes mountain climbing and wadi treks.
According to the developers, the Floating Retreat is “programmed to operate” between November and May, to avoid the summer heat.
“One of the main goals of the project is to re-energise the local community through tourism, by providing a space for people to connect with the natural beauty of the region and to learn about its rich culture and heritage,” the website reads adding that destination allows guests “to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of daily life and to enjoy a sense of calmness and peace.”
