Dubai’s talent-hiring segment is set for an AI-driven transformative change, with the debut of uBest, a new-age tech-backed recruitment solution platform, offering an algorithmic two-way matching system for companies and job seekers, promising drastic reduction in hours spent on tailoring resumes to just a five-minute scroll on app.
The tech-driven change-over in the emirate’s job market, coinciding with the boom in the non-oil sector in the UAE catapulting Dubai as the second most competitive job market globally, will offer recruiters with a ready-to-go AI and ML-filtered and pre-verified list of candidates, while directing job seekers to the most relevant opportunities through a unique swipe-mode app.
The uBest platform will also soon roll out new features such as skills verification through partner testing, video-recorded pre-screening, and a formalised skills structure, further enhancing the efficiency of the job application process in Dubai.
“We understand the pain of lengthy hiring processes, and our mission is to transform the game,” Daniel Avshalumov, Founder and CEO of uBest, told Arabian Business.
“Our solution prioritises skills-based hiring, eliminating bias, and emphasising objective qualifications,” he said, adding that “now, securing a job match and interview will be as simple as checking our app for just 5 minutes a day”.
Non-oil sector boom to drive hiring surge in Dubai
Dubai – as also the UAE – is poised to see a dramatic increase in available employment opportunities this year, fuelled by the current boom in the non-oil sectors, projected to drive the country’s GDP (gross domestic product) to 4.2 percent in 2024, sector experts said.
Non-oil industries such as tech, telecom and real estate are expected to see the bulk of the new job opportunities, they added.

A recent report by Hays Middle East showed that as high as 92 percent of all organisations in the Gulf region are planning to recruit in various categories – permanent employees, temporary employees, contractors, or freelancers – in 2024.
The report also said 67 percent of employers in the region want to grow their organisation’s headcount, while 78 percent of employers predict a salary increase in their organisations this year.
“Thanks to the non-oil economy policy, the UAE’s tech sector alone has seen a 20 percent surge in job opportunities, with a high demand for skilled tech professionals,” Avshalumov said.
uBest to offer skills verification, video-recorded pre-screening
Avshalumov said the company’s new-age tech-enabled recruitment solution consists of an advanced platform for recruiters and swipe-mode like app for job seekers for each listed job on sites such as LinkedIn.
He said Dubai – also the UAE – job market is one of the most competitive markets in the world, with an estimated average of 282.9 applicants per job vacancy.
Recruiters find themselves manually sorting through this influx, only to discover that 80 percent of the applicants are irrelevant, while job seekers have to tailor their resumes and cover letters to each vacancy, only to get considered for a 15-minute screening.
“uBest addresses these challenges by selectively presenting pertinent and verified candidate profiles through its database,” the platform founder said.
The platform also offers in-app English proficiency tests for further assessment, ensuring that recruiters are presented with candidates whose hard skills are a definite match.

“Furthermore, uBest distinguishes itself by verifying candidate profiles upon registration, setting it apart from other job boards where unchecked profiles can lead to the creation of fake accounts,” Avshalumov said.
He said for job seekers, the platform presents a user-friendly swipe-mode app that streamlines the application process.
“The standout advantage lies in the consolidated resume that users fill out in their profiles, eliminating the need to tailor it for each specific job vacancy.
“All skills are readily showcased to employers, and an algorithmic matching system ensures attention is directed to relevant candidates,” the uBest Founder said.
The app ensures that job seekers won’t come across listings that aren’t suitable for their profile, he said.
“Employers will stand to benefit from a streamlined process, experiencing a 5-time reduction in labour and time expenses, while job seekers can leverage the platform’s swipe-mode app for an enhanced experience,” Avshalumov said.
