A wax figure of the late Benazir Bhutto, the former Pakistani Prime Minister, will be unveiled at Dubai’s Madame Tussauds museum on Sunday.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Benazir’s son and Pakistan’s current Foreign Minister, will attend the unveiling ceremony along with diplomats and other guests, the Pakistani foreign office said on Saturday.
This will be the first-ever wax figure of a Pakistani personality at Madame Tussauds.
Benazir Bhutto, who served two terms as the country’s Prime Minister, was also the chairperson of the Pakistan Peoples Party. Tragically, she was assassinated during an election campaign in Rawalpindi in December 2007 at the age of 54.
During his official visit to the UAE on July 30, Foreign Minister Bilawal will also hold a meeting with his Emirati counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, according to the Pakistani Foreign Office. The pair will cover various aspects of the countries’ bilateral ties.
Additionally, the Foreign Minister will express condolences to the UAE leadership on the passing of Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed, the brother of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed.
The Pakistan Foreign Office statement emphasises that this visit demonstrates Pakistan’s strong engagement with the UAE and the mutually beneficial cooperation between the two friendly nations.
