Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of UAE, and Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, India’s External Affairs Minister, held discussions on a wide range of issues, including further strengthening the long-standing friendship ties between the two countries.

During a working dinner in Abu Dhabi on Monday, June 24, the two ministers also reviewed the progress made in various areas of bilateral cooperation within the framework of the comprehensive strategic and economic partnership between the UAE and India.

The two leaders also explored their countries’ efforts to strengthen joint cooperation in all sectors, including economic, trade, investment, education, culture, health, food security, renewable energy, and climate change.

Al Nahyan stressed that the UAE and India share a strong and strategic partnership, marked by growing momentum in bilateral cooperation.

“In 2017, the relationship between the two countries was elevated to a comprehensive strategic partnership.

“This significant development further deepened and strengthened the already strong ties based on a solid foundation of mutual understanding, trust, respect, and shared interests,” Al Nahyan noted.

“The UAE-India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), launched in May 2022, has significantly boosted economic and trade cooperation in a way that supports the national development goals of both countries,” he added.

Al Nahyan and Dr. Jaishankar also explored areas for collaboration within international organisations, while also exchanging views on current regional and international developments, including the situation in the Middle East.
