The new Barbie movie featuring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling has been making waves across the world topping box office charts since its global release this month, however, due to unknown reasons release date in the UAE has been postponed to August 31.
As per the listing on VOX Cinemas, the movie’s release date is listed as August 31. Other cinemas in the UAE have listed the movie’s release as ‘coming soon’.
Arabian Business contacted VOX Cinemas regarding the delay in the release date, the response read, “Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience.
Kindly note that the movie “BARBIE” release date is 31st of August 2023 as mentioned on our website.
We release movie schedules on a weekly basis.
Please keep an eye on the website or the Vox Cinemas application for any updates.”
A recent video has emerged of a giant barbie in Downtown near the Burj Khalifa. The Barbie can be seen exiting her box and taking a step out into the city.
The now viral CGI video has been making rounds on social media with over 186K views and thousands of comments since it was posted last week.
Users took to the comment section to share their views of the film’s marketing team and Dubai’s advertising efforts.
“The marketing team of #barbie needs a standing ovation,” a comment read.
Last week, Burger King also unveiled a pink burger in celebration of the release of the movie, available in Brazil, the Barbie meal is made up of a cheeseburger, pink vanilla-flavoured milkshake, a ring doughnut with pink frostings, and a serving of Ken’s fries.
