Rizon Jet launches charter service in Bahrain

Rizon Jet, the latest charter airline to launch in Bahrain, is expected to commence flights this month.

Rizon Jet, the latest charter airline to launch in Bahrain, is expected to commence flights this month.

The company, which is hoping to capitalise on growing demand for corporate travel in the Middle East, has started operations with an authorised capital of US$30 million and a paid-up capital of $10 million, by a consortium of shareholders from the GCC.

“The Kingdom of Bahrain was chosen as the company’s headquarters because it enjoys a strategic location, political stability and has the necessary aviation infrastructure in place to support the growing corporate charter sector,” said Ibrahim Al Hamer, chairman and chief executive officer of Rizon Jet. “Coinciding with the launch of the service, Rizon Jet has also opened its regional office in Sharjah, UAE, with plans to open more representative offices in other states in the region.”

The company, which will commence operations using a six-seater Beechcraft Premier 1A aircraft, plans to increase the fleet with a similar aircraft next month.

“To cover the destinations in the Middle East region, the company will have a medium jet Hawker 900XP aircraft later this year, capable of operating non stop flights to Europe,” said Al Hamer.

“Later, we shall extend our services to cover long-distance destinations across the globe with the inclusion of a super jet Bombardier 605 aircraft that will be received in 2008,” he added.
